Tokyo life style design exhibition

Today I went to the exhibition held in National exhibition hall in Tokyo. This exhibition was only for buyer but thanks to my school, we can enter this big international exhibition. Today, I'd like to present one Japanese lighting artist, who exhibit her works there.

These are lights of Sachie Muramatsu. Her bland name is same as her name.
They are made of Japanese paper called "Washi".
The material of "Washi" is the bark of kouzo, mitsumata and gampi, which belong to the mulberry family.
"Washi" has really good effects for lighting use.
It makes light from LED dispersed and soft.
Washi is a flammable like normal paper so LED makes it possible to be used for lighting.

The concept of her brand is "Flower shop of lighting".
She made them one by one by hand at her studio.

MY opinion:

As her concept said, at the exhibition her boos was like a small flower shop.
The space of her boos was really tiny compares to other big lighting company's ones but her product was really appealing and unique.
Since I know about her lights, I've been wanted to use them for cafe project.
I hope it can be realized when I become interior designer!

The Image is like below.
